Highlights of “06 en scene”

Music and Dance:

– Abd al Malik, Sunday, April 8th at 9:30 PM
The winner of the urban music prize of the year at the 2007 Victoires de la Musique will perform songs from his album “Gibraltar.”

– Archive, Saturday, April 7th at 10:30 PM
A British group formed around Darius Keeler and Danny Griffiths. Their musical style, which originated with trip hop, borrows elements from rock, electro, and hip-hop, blending them into a mix of electro, progressive rock, and ambient music.

– The Hip Hop Battle, Saturday, April 7th at 2:30 PM
Primarily a dance meetup organized in a festive spirit. Dance “crews” or companies compete against each other in various hip hop categories: b-boying (floor dancing), popping, locking, experimental… Various actors from the hip-hop culture will take up challenges in a clear sportsmanship spirit, facing off in brief battles. A true show not to be missed. At the end of the “battle,” the two best participants will receive prizes worth 1,000 and 500 euros.

A musical video creation bringing together four elements: music, opera artists, sound, and light, distributed across the four corners of the space; the aim is to place the audience at the center of the spectacle punctuated by opera singer performances.

– Center of the Earth, Monday, April 9th at 7:15 PM
A musical show of hip-hop, electro, featuring Maniacx & Puppetmastaz. Fascinated by an old legend about strange creatures living in a mysterious world near the “Center of the Earth,” a famous hunter of fantastical beings decides to explore this legendary myth.

– Sarajevo’s Diary, Monday, April 9th at 4:00 PM
Directed by Eric Oberdorff, conceived as a day-to-day personal diary, it’s a real story told by the Human Company about a journey to Sarajevo, ten years after the bullets stopped whistling.

Cinema:

This year, the film programming is enriched with feature films and animation films directly linked to the departmental policy in favor of cinema. Raw cinema, cine-concerts, screenings of films from the Higher Institute of Audiovisual Production will be offered to the public.

Attended by director Jacques Fieschi, a native of Alpes-Maritimes. Film starring Nathalie Baye.

– Shark Tale, Saturday, April 7th at 2:00 PM

– Yellow Traffic for a Red Thread, Monday, April 9th at 6:45 PM
By and with Magali Maria and Jonathan Gensburger, directed by Olivier Colladant.
Pierre and Valérie are beginners and wish to become actors. Together, they attempt to put on a show and for more than an hour, they lock themselves in a bubble.

“06 en scene” is a family event and children are particularly catered for with workshops in dance, theater, storytelling sessions, puppet shows, parade costumes, clowns, acrobats, jugglers…

– The Wonderful Journey of Nils Holgersson, Monday, April 9th at 2:00 PM
Presented by the Public Voice Company. Reduced by a Tomte to the size of a squirrel and chased by vengeful animals, Nils is torn from the ground, carried on the back of Martin, the white gander eager to join a flock of wild geese. For ages 6+.

– The Clothesline, Sunday, April 8th at 5:15 PM
Clown theater presented by the Arpette Company. Two clown actresses revisit the fundamental questions of a housewife. For ages 10+.

– Azur and Asmar, Sunday, April 8th at 2:45 PM
The latest film by Michel Ocelot, director of Kirikou.

– Pinocchio, Saturday, April 7th at 2:00 PM
A puppet show offered by the Divine Hardware Company. A storyteller with blue hair, a dedicated and zealous exhibitor, nine puppets, eleven sets… the show recounts the famous adventures of the puppet. For ages 5+.

– Artist Coaching Workshop by Christophe Pinna, Monday, April 9th, at 4:00 PM
Young teenagers can gather all the advice artists need to excel and mentally prepare for stage performance, provided by Christophe Pinna (a role he already plays with the students of the Star Academy), world champion in all categories of karate.

– A photographic exhibition by Alexandre Roche will highlight the youth of Alpes-Maritimes, thus refuting the false image of an aging department. Through random encounters, Alexandre Roche photographed young people in their socio-professional, cultural, territorial, rural, or urban realities and asked them to project themselves into their professional future. To illustrate their future projects, they have been staged with decors.
