100% electric buses are arriving on Nice’s hill network.

Latest News

On Monday, January 9th, Christian Estrosi announced the launch of several 100% electric bus lines. These lines will serve the entire hillside network, which is a key sector of the city.

The Lignes d’Azur network currently has 17 electric bus lines since the launch of line 12, the first electric line in 2019. This marks a new milestone, as 10 additional lines will now be electrified by spring 2023, including 5 of them for the city’s hills (lines 36, 37, 38, 64, and 71).

Three electric bus lines will be operational by the end of January. They will replace the thermal models of line 64 connecting the SNCF Station and Saint-Pierre de Fรฉric. These new lines will offer a better quality of life to the hillside residents. The new buses, quieter, shorter, and less wide, will be better suited to the roads while maintaining the seating capacity with 61 seats.

The Metropolis aims to reduce CO2 emissions from the transport sector by 126,000 tonnes by 2025. This goal is part of the Climate Plan, and to meet the set objectives, the Rรฉgie Lignes d’Azur fleet will be 100% decarbonized by 2025.
