On the occasion of the 10th Occitan Dictation in Nissart, the Centre Culturel Occitan País Nissart e Alpenc is changing the event’s location and invites you on Saturday, January 28th at 3 PM to the Trident, 14 Avenue du Trident in Nice, at the Maioun Curturala Nissarda de Nissart per Tougiou.
Students from the adult courses of CEDAC Ariane, Cimiez and St Antoine, the Port (CCÒc), Saint Pancrace (Lu nissarts dei couòla), Nice Nord (ALANN), St Roch (Nissart per Tougiou), and the Coaraze course (CCÒc) have already planned to attend.
This dictation is a free competition open to all.
The Nissart text is by Jouan Pizzo (1916-1992), a quality poet and one of the founders of Sian de Nissa. Originally from the Carras district, a former student of business schools in Nice and Marseille, he was a wholesaler of general plumbing and heating supplies. He composed a large number of poems in Nissart, either emotional or humorous, many of which remain unpublished, expressing the love for his native land, the beauties of nature, and the simple joys of life. A winner of the 1980 Niçoises Traditions poetry contest, he received the 1982 Grand Poetry Prize of the City of Nice.
This text will allow all those who know a bit of the language to attempt to write it, all spellings are accepted.
There will be four categories of texts:
1) for children,
2) for middle schoolers,
3) for high schoolers (we have planned a specific action for the establishments of Parc Impérial, Beau Site, Estienne d’Orves, and Sasserno)
4) for adults (we have planned a specific action for the Nissart course at the Cimiez hospital, in connection with the Paratage association).
Friendliness and good humor are on the agenda; participation is what matters most!
This year, 37 cities from Occitania are participating in this event, not forgetting Barcelona in Catalonia.
