Responding to Nice Cรดte d’Azur’s strong desire to promote social diversity through this initiative, the Nice Communal Social Action Center and Unis-Citรฉs worked together, with the help of the Community Local Mission “Objectifs Jeunes Nice Cรดte d’Azur” and the Association for Facilitating the Professional Insertion of Young Graduates (AFIJ), to recruit young people aged 16 to 25 from all neighborhoods, with different levels of education and diverse cultural backgrounds.

The Civic Service allows all young people aged 16 to 25 who wish to commit to a period of 6 to 12 months, for a mission serving the community and the general interest.

These young people will gain both interpersonal and practical skills, while giving their time and energy to the community.

The civic service involves:

– A mission of general interest to promote social, intergenerational, gender, and youth diversity;
– Mentorship: individualized and regular support for a young person;
– Civic and citizenship training.

Thus, this Tuesday, October 26, 12 young volunteers will begin their mission of general interest at the Communal Social Action Center. Three days a week, for nine months, they will receive training on the missions of the CCAS: Gerontology, severe poverty, ethics, and the appropriate behavior towards the most vulnerable groups.
