Today from 9 AM to 9 PM, it’s likely to smell quite delicious at Place Pierre Gautier in the context of the Téléthon, since contestants from the culinary shows Top Chef and Un dîner presque parfait will join forces for a good cause by preparing tasty dishes for 12 hours. It’s the students from IPAG Nice and their professor, who is one of the chefs involved in the event, who have organized this initiative.
Cooking enthusiasts will be delighted for this 2012 Téléthon since Noémie Honiat, Norbert Tarayre, and Franck Viano will be in the kitchen tomorrow, Saturday, from 9 AM to 9 PM, to delight the public at a Soup Bar, with delicious pastries from the 2011 French Dessert Champion and sweet Pan bagnats from the local star of the event.
At the heart of this project are Vanessa Negri and Héloïse Schwab, two students from Ipag who decided to take charge of organizing this event in collaboration with their teacher, Franck Viano, who is one of the three restaurateurs involved in this action. “As every year, we have a joint project to work on in collaboration with second-year students, and Héloïse and I are both passionate about cooking. Plus, it was a great opportunity to work with our teacher and two chefs as nice and available as Noémie and Norbert,” Vanessa explains between phone calls regarding the organization.
It certainly wasn’t easy to gather the approximately 200 kilos of food supplies needed to keep everything running, not to mention the essential large and small equipment crucial for this type of service. “We found wonderful people and could rely on the support of many officials like Dominique Estrosi-Sassone, Françoise Monier, or Lauriano Azinheirinha. A big thank you, by the way, to the central kitchen of Nice and Leclerc Saint Isidore, who provided us with most of the food supplies, and to Sodimats, which supplied all the large equipment.” The two students proudly show the list of partners and sponsors (see at the end of the article).
An organization that was not straightforward, but a result that should be most delicious today, starting at 9 AM at Place Pierre Gautier, with the pleasure of sight that can commune with the delights of the taste buds, which, no doubt, should also be celebrated this Saturday for a day truly unlike any other on Cours Saleya and Quai des États-Unis.
