“Even if it has a long history, the Nautical Club is above all a club with a future.” This is the conclusion of the remarks that Frédéric Allo, its President, addressed to all participants, authorities, friends, and members of the CNN, gathered to celebrate this anniversary that magnificently carries its age.
Before the official ceremony, the club celebrated ‘sportively’ with a sea trip for athletes and members, with no less than 80 sailing and rowing boats on the water at the Port of Nice.
The Nice Nautical Club was founded on March 14, 1883, with the aim of awakening and developing a taste for water sports. Today, the Nautical Club has 825 members and 2,500 practitioners each year. It fully plays its educational and sporting role in Nice and organizes numerous nautical events throughout the year.
And to recall the objectives of its mission:
Help young people reach the highest steps of the podium
Participate in the organization of major events
Organize new major events: French Coastal Rowing Championship in 2015 and French Disabled Sailing Championship in 2016
To get there, the Nautical Club has not rested on its laurels, quite the opposite, as demonstrated by the results of the last three years:
In 2011:

The junior Kristoffer Gallo French Champion.

The solo non-stop round-the-world sailing trip, east to west (“backwards”), without an engine and using only renewable energy for electricity, is the challenge achieved by Stephane NARVAEZ, a member of the Nice Nautical Club.

And finally, it should not be forgotten that for many years, the club also organizes

the Star regattas every month
So, long live the Nautical Club and see you for the 150th anniversary!!!
