1787 films registered this year. The European short film festival continues to grow during its 14th edition, which will take place from October 13 to 19 in Nice. 170 short films and one feature film will be screened across the 56 scheduled sessions.
4 official competitions will take place this year: the “European Competition,” the “Experience Competition,” “Local Shorts” and “Animation Shorts.” 6 free entry showings are scheduled during the 7 days of the festival, which will showcase no less than 23 nationalities. 93 films are in competition.
The European Competition will screen 38 short films from 19 different nationalities. Among them, 6 winners will be chosen by the 3 juries, presided over by Nice filmmaker Yann Gonzales.
These programs can be seen from Tuesday to Friday at the M.A.M.A.C between 5:30 PM and 10 PM.
The second competition will present art films and videos in its fourth edition. 2 European film programs made between 2013 and 2014, totaling 30 films from 14 European countries, will be shown only at the Mercury cinema. The jury consists of 3 professionals from Nice who will award the Grand Prize, sponsored by the online video host, Dailymotion.
The “Local Shorts” competition will showcase films shot in the PACA region and Corsica.
The final official competition will spotlight animation schools, with 15 films from these institutions being unveiled.
Out-of-competition screenings are also planned during the festival, all taking place at the Rialto Cinema in Nice.
