The exhibition offers a collection of ancient documents, some of which are incunabula, from the Patrimonial and Study Library Romain Gary.

Books, engravings (maps and portraits of famous figures), newspaper articles, tourist guides, period works on the wars of independence, and prints highlight the journey towards the creation of a national identity and reveal the birth of a sense of belonging to the same country, elevating Italy to the status of a state, thus changing the face of Europe.

The exhibition is organized around several themes:

  • The diversity of regions highlighted with maps and tourist guides from the period.

  • The importance of language, literature, and music in the journey towards unity.

  • The figures who contributed to unification: generals, aristocrats, thinkers, politicians, as well as men and women of the people who fought for unification.
