The Handi Voile 06 program aims to promote the integration, rehabilitation, and fulfillment of people with disabilities through nautical activities.
The cities of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin, Cap d’Ail, Saint-Laurent-du-Var, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Villeneuve-Loubet, Antibes, Vallauris Golfe Juan, Mandelieu-La Napoule, Nice, and Cannes invite all people with disabilities who wish to discover water activities such as kayaking or sailing to visit their beaches throughout the month of June.
From June 2 to 25, the 16th edition of the Handi Voile 06 tour will be held.
The Alpes Maritimes department, in partnership with the Departmental Sailing Committee, offers numerous free nautical activities accessible to people with reduced mobility on various beaches and nautical centers in the region.
Outings aboard trimarans, kayaks, and collective boats are also planned, with each excursion lasting about an hour.
These outings are supervised by certified instructors employed by the departmental committee.
There will be four per day: from 9:30 am to 10:30 am, 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm, and 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
During the last edition, nearly 957 people with disabilities, accompanied by their families, were able to enjoy these free outings. Additionally, 50 specialized organizations that welcome people with disabilities benefit from free sailing sessions throughout the year at nautical bases contracted by the department.
To participate, registration is required.
Registration opens on May 4, 2022, on the department’s website: https://handivoile.departement06.fr
It is possible to register a maximum of 4 people per family to allow several families to enjoy the activities.
