Until April 24th at the Beaulieu sur Mer Tennis Club, the Beaulieu-sur-Mer International Junior Tennis Tournament will take place, which contributes to the world championship. This event is highly regarded by professionals and tennis enthusiasts. It is also the first French Junior Tournament after Roland Garros. In 2011, Ilie NASTASE had the honor of being the Patron of the Tournament.
Gianni CIACCIA, Christophe RIBERO, tournament directors, and Alain MORACCHINI, organizer, are doing remarkable work to give this event an international scope.
This tournament will host the best juniors of the moment. It is one of the essential steps towards pursuing a career at the highest level.
It is to say that Beaulieu-sur-Mer and its century-old Tennis Club (the “LAWN Tennis Club de Beaulieu was created in 1899) has been, for many years, the breeding ground for future international champions such as: Juan Carlos FERRERO, Novak DJOKOVIC, Justine HENIN, Dinara SAFINA, Jarkko NIEMINEN, Marcos BAGHDATIS, Anna PAVUCHENKLOVA, etc.
And among the French currently on the circuit: Jo Wilfried TSONGA, Alizé CORNET, Marion BARTOLI, Mickaël LLODRA, Jérémy CHARDY, Edouard ROGER-VASSELIN, Paul-Henri MATHIEU, Richard GASQUET, Gaël MONFILS, etc.
More than 200 young people from 30 different nationalities will be present during this period. This year, the club is organizing, during the event, the first international junior wheelchair Tennis tournament (doubles) on April 22 and 23, 2011.
