16th Prom’Classic: the line-up has just been announced

Latest News

The 16th edition of the Prom’Classic is being prepared. The starting signal will be given at 10:00 AM on the Promenade des Anglais.

The event will be sold out this year, as all 8,500 bibs have been claimed since last December 17th. A new participation record for this first 10 km race in France!

As every year, all eyes will be on the front of the race. Among the male competitors, 4 athletes have performances on paper below the Prom’Classic record (Editor’s note: Saïd TBIBI in 28’38’’ since 2007).

Abdelatif MEFTAH, last year’s winner, with a personal record of 28’27’’ and extensive experience in this first 10 km race in France, seems to be the most likely to take the top spot on the podium.

Driss EL HIMER, who finished fourth last year in the Prom’Classic but holds a personal best of 28’13’, should be a formidable contender and will do everything to steal the victory.

El Hassan BEN LKHAINOUCH, French Champion over the 10 km in 2014 (best performance: 28’34’’) and Denis MAYAUD, French Champion at the distance in 2012 (best performance: 28’31’’) are not expected to merely play supporting roles.

In the women’s category, the race should hold few surprises.

The favorite on paper and record holder of the event since last year (32’21’’), Sophie DUARTE, should leave her opponents with little chance and clinch the victory with relative ease if the performances are up to expectations. Martha KOMU, her main competitor on paper, should still challenge her as much as possible.

Noteworthy is the return of a Prom’Classic regular, Fanny PRUVOST, who finished second in 2013.
