It was at the Mediterranean University Center that the city of Nice presented the 17th Spring of Poets. On the program: readings, games, discussions, conferences, and debates from March 7 to 22.
For more than 3 weeks, Nice will become a poetic city.
Several libraries will open their doors to all literature lovers.
“Louis Nucera offers anyone who wishes to become a poet, thanks to writing workshops,” enthused Jean-Luc Gag, municipal councilor for historical heritage, literature, fight against illiteracy, theater, culture, and the Niçoise language.
But that’s not all. Poets will come to meet the public for exceptional readings. Daniel Biga and Alain Freixe will be present to read their texts and those of their absent friends.
At the Ariane-Leonard De Vinci library, workshops around books will be exclusively dedicated to the youngest. It will also be a time for families to enjoy a show put on by Caroline Duval and Johanna Piraino.
In total, 8 libraries in Nice are planning conferences, readings, and workshops for the greatest pleasure of poetry enthusiasts.
The Spring of Poets at the Mediterranean University Center
“This year, the theme of the Spring of Poets is the Poetic Insurrection. And who better to illustrate it than the author Nicolas de Staël. A theatrical reading of his correspondences will occur at the Center,” explains Agnès Rampal, deputy delegate for Euro-Mediterranean, CUM, and repatriates.
But that’s not all. Laurent Constantini, the author of “Beyrouth, Beyrouth,” will come to read his texts accompanied by photos.
Finally, a Spring of Poets inevitably means the House of Associations and Forum Nice Nord. On this occasion, Garibaldi Square will transform for an afternoon into a square of poetry. Animations and street arts will take place, mixing dance and literature.
Writing workshops and open shows will conclude the major events of this 17th edition of the Spring of Poets.
