This Sunday will be the 19th Occitania Festival – a linguistic space of Nissart and Alpine. This festival highlights the Nissart, Alpine, and Provençal dialects, which represent an invaluable heritage for us that requires use to survive.
The Occitan language, which includes Nissart, Alpine, and Provençal, is present in a space called Occitania, with 16 million inhabitants and 190,000 km² (across 4 states: France, Italy, Spain, and Monaco), including 3 million speakers (from Bordeaux to Menton) and which unfolds into different dialects: Auvergnat, Limousin, Vivaro-Alpine, Gascon, Languedocian, Provençal, and Nissart.
Tribute will be paid to the 86 victims of the attack in Nice, and also to the artist Jean-Marc Eusébi (1962-2006), Sciença-Reinat Anfosso (1942-2016), actor and voice of Ràdio Nissa Pantai, and Anhés Cardellini (1971-2016) a brilliant student of Nissart from Nissa Pantai.
