The Prom’Classic, the must-attend first 10 km of the season, is set to celebrate its 19th edition this Sunday, January 7th. The event marks its grand return to the Promenade des Anglais.
This new 2018 edition is looking very promising, as the organizers have closed registrations, reaching the limit they set of 8,000 allocated bibs.
A very open competition among men / A particularly dense field among women
As every year, the question of a potential record at the finish will be on everyone’s lips.
On the men’s side, among the announced runners, we must note the participation of Yoann DURAND once again, winner of the Prom’Classic in 2016 with a time of 28’57’’, facing James THEURI, the other favorite on paper, boasting a personal record of 28’18’’ and who finished third on the podium last year.
On the women’s side, excitement is guaranteed with the return of Sophie DUARTE, European Cross Champion in 2013 and record-holder of the event in 2014 with a time of 32’21’’ (personal record), competing against the 2017 French champions of the 10 km and the Half-Marathon, Mélanie DOUTART (personal record of 34’12’’) and Fanny PRUVOST (personal record of 33’15’’).
