The Shogun Nice Taekwondo concluded its sports season in the best possible way on Sunday, May 30, 2010. Nearly a hundred fighters gathered at the Leyrit hall for this 1st Azur Cup organized by the Nice club. A delegation of 25 members from the SNT under Grรฉgory Rosello came that day to compete against nearly a hundred young fighters from the Alpes-Maritimes region. This last competition of the 2009-2010 season held in Nice was a great success, judging by the enthusiasm of a particularly demonstrative audience and a total commitment from the promising Azur Taekwondo talents.
Some results are worth mentioning: In the -41kg minor category, Amine Kabli confirmed his excellent season by winning his final after 3 matches, two of which were won by referee stoppage. In the -30kg minor category, Chant Rithiboulom won the competition after 2 matches (14-6) (9-6) and a final achieved by his opponent’s withdrawal in the 1st round. Victoria Noel, in the -33kg minor category, very courageously won her final (8-5) after 4 intense matches, despite a foot injury during her semi-final. Another special mention goes to Matthias Florรจs, winner in the -33kg Benjamin category, and Luka Tancovich in the -21kg Pupille category.
Starting from September 2010, new sports sections will be introduced, including Kick Boxing and Body Combat, with training sessions for children and adults. Athletes will now be able to train at the club both recreationally and competitively, in three different disciplines, throughout the week, for the registration fee of a single discipline.
