Gilles Simon, Ernests Gulbis, John Isner, Juan Monaco, Leonardo Mayer, Bernard Tomic… The clay courts of the Nice Imperial Park hill are ready to see some big names from May 17th to 23rd on the courts of the Nice LTC. Follow the adventure of the little yellow ball in Nice on the Nice Côte d’Azur Sports Portal.

19 players qualified outright, 3 wild cards, 4 from the qualifying tournament, and 2 special exempts will form the starting lineup of this new Nice Côte d’Azur Open Tennis, won last year by Latvian Ernests Gulbis, the tournament’s number 2 seed, who defeated Argentine Delbonis—who had ousted Gilles Simon in the semifinals—after beating Slovak Martin Klizan (4/6 6/3 6/4), Russian Dmitry Tursunov (6/3 3/6 7/6(5)), and the defending champion, Spaniard Albert Montanes (6/0 6/3).

There’s no doubt that forehands, backhands, drop shots, slices, or smashes will once again be part of the action for this new edition of the tournament, with the qualifiers starting on Saturday, May 16th, with a day open and free for all.

The tournament will get into full swing starting Sunday, April 17th, with the first-round matches from 3 PM, continuing the next day to conclude on Tuesday with the first round of the round of 16.
