After Paris and Courbevoie, Nice will be the 3rd city in France to join forces with the K d’Urgences Foundation, chaired by Christine Kelly under the aegis of the Fondation de France. This is a new emblematic initiative by the municipality which continues its commitment to the well-being of all young children in Nice and their families.

The partnership agreement signed on Monday, October 17, by the city of Nice and K d’Urgences concerns the national operation “2000 Women for 2012”, which targets single-parent families. The objective is to assist families facing this situation and in urgent need.

The main focus of the agreement is child care assistance. In this respect, the partners are committed to:

¨ For the K d’Urgences Foundation, to recognize the efforts of the city in providing child care for single-parent families. The executive committee of the foundation will approve the applications submitted by the city of Nice, which will then be reviewed and funded by them. The Foundation is committed to assisting these families through associations designated by them;

¨ For the city of Nice, to propose to the Foundation the study of applications from single-parent families who could benefit and to find child care solutions for these families.

The city of Nice continues the effort it has been making for nearly three years in the field of early childhood. A concrete and unprecedented program has been implemented: creation of a compensatory municipal allowance, development of daycare spaces in facilities that are municipal or joint city/business, special attention to children from families in social or parental difficulties through a partnership with the General Council, signing of the Parenting Charter, charter for welcoming children with disabilities, etc.
