It is in her kayak that Emilie Fer will represent the French colors at the London Olympic Games. As the only female representative of the discipline, she is determined to win a medal.
At 29 years old, Emilie Fer is participating in her second Olympics. Her seventh place in Beijing did not please her. She is convinced that she can do better. Alain Koubi, president of the Regional Olympic and Sports Committee, is also convinced: “the kayaker has a definite chance for a medal.”
Since she started at the age of 11, the Azur native has come a long way. Vice champion of France in 2010, 9th in the European Championships the same year, Emilie took 4th place at the World Championships in 2011. Her consistent performance in the top 10 supports her goal of winning a medal.
Driven by the pleasure she finds in competition, the young woman will surely achieve her goals.
