The 2013 Masters of Pétanque were won by Philippe Suchaud’s team, defeating the Madagascar team 13 to 7 last night in Monaco.
A dream final. The two teams that qualified for the final were the favorites and clearly the best. The Malagasy players Héritiana Ralison, Jean-Jacky Randrianandrasana, Christian Andrianiaina, and Anthony Ramamonjisoa, whose precise shooting impressed during the Final Four, nonetheless succumbed to the French team of Philippe Suchaud, Philippe Quintais, Christian Fazzino, and Damien Hureau.
The final was tightly contested until the Malagasy team tired and missed their usually formidable shots. They cracked under the pressure of the event and lost 13 to 7. Facing them, Philippe Suchaud and his team delivered a dream final. Philippe Suchaud, a 10-time world champion, Philippe Quintais, a 12-time world champion, Damien Hureau, a one-time world champion, and Christian Fazzino, a 4-time world champion, further expanded their prestigious records.
The Masters of Monaco have therefore concluded but will leave the spectators with grand memories of high-level matches and a colorful spectacle.
