The unsatisfactory result of his candidacy in the municipal elections in Nice last spring left a bitter taste for Jacques Peyrat, former mayor of Nice from 1995 to 2008.
At that time, it was thought he would put politics away among memories, between the good and the not so good. However, politics is also a virus, and here he is again, passionately returning to the fray for the senatorial elections on the upcoming September 28.
He will represent the Republican Alliance and, as a former military officer, he already has his campaign slogan: “To win without risk is to triumph without glory.”
In the context of the upcoming senatorial elections to be held on September 28, 2014, Jacques Peyrat will be a candidate leading a list for the Azuréen Rally.
A former Senator, he is well acquainted with the upper house where he still has numerous supporters who have convinced him over the past weeks to run in this election.
Unlike other candidates who hold multiple mandates, he will dedicate himself solely and entirely to this mandate of Senator of the Alpes-Maritimes to “raise and firmly uphold the voice of the Azuréens in the Senate.”
“In a period of loss of essential values and the decay of political parties, I will embody the path of experience and reason, as well as the voice of integrity and morality.”
Already campaigning and with the support of major voters, who are more numerous each day, I will present my complete list, my campaign director, and my financial representative at a press conference that I will hold in the last week of August,” explains the new candidate.
A surprising candidacy that is certain to make waves during a rather calm summer period in the political landscape of the Côte d’Azur.
