2014 wishes from Patrick Allemand: “I want to be the mayor of Nice”

Latest News

The presentation of good wishes to the press (“All media outlets were invited, I don’t make a proscription list,” he said ironically, referring to the similar ceremony organized by Christian Estrosi a few days ago) by Patrick Allemand has officially opened the second phase of the election campaign.

allemand-13.jpg With the governance pact and the imminent announcement of the list of candidates who will accompany him in the challenge against Christian Estrosi (Meeting this Sunday January 19 at 3:30 PM at Acropolis), the election campaign is getting into the heart of the matter!

The opponent of the outgoing mayor did not lack wit: “My wish for 2014 is to win this election to put an end to this Republic of Nice governed by a single man.”

“Moreover, my governance pact stands to demonstrate this: The proposed measures move towards a participatory and transparent policy, contrary to the autocratic and opaque drift of the current one.” added the socialist candidate.

The explicit accusation against Christian Estrosi is of using his institutional activity for his election propaganda: The meeting at Nikaรฏa for the wishes to local government agents having gone awry, as they say, with the presence of many people unrelated to this function.

The presentation of the list of candidates will thus be an important act and allow for a better understanding of the profile and characteristics of Patrick Allemand’s running mates.

The leader of “Alternative for Nice” thus wanted to motivate this act: “For three reasons. The first is to put an end to the rumors suggesting that the socialists are unable to fill the list. There will be 11 socialists in the top 22 places and 35 in total. Here is the response. The second is respect for the candidates. I don’t want, like others, to delay communication to avoid negative reactions and expressions of dissatisfaction from disappointed candidates. The third is that our project will be built by a team, with maximum cohesion that requires knowing each other and integrating through common work.”

A word on the other lists that will be in the race: “I am not interested in them. The one to beat is Christian Estrosi.”

Clearly, this challenge motivates him: “I have been the leader of the opposition during this last mandate. I am the natural challenger to put an end to the… Republic of Nice!”

Now that, after next Sunday’s meeting, “his” team will be ready for action, we await the project that will have to define Patrick Allemand’s vision of Nice and its near future.

Criticism is often positive and is a precious tool to fuel the dialogue between diverse political sensibilities. But to run for governance, it is also essential to have a project that citizens can appreciate, or not.

The time for proposals has therefore come, and that’s a good thing. We look forward to knowing them to relay them for the benefit of fair information as it should be during an election campaign.
