After Christian Estrosi announced his candidacy as the head of the UMP list for the 2015 regional elections, it was only natural for his loyal ally Rudy Salles to follow suit. The opposite would have been surprising, given how the centrist has been in the shadow of the mayor of Nice in all public functions for many years.
In fact, Rudy Salles and Sophie Joissains (Senator for Bouches-du-Rhône and daughter of both the former and current mayors of Aix-en-Provence) have been appointed as leaders of the Union of Democrats and Independents (UDI) for the upcoming regional elections in Provence-Alpes-Côte-D’Azur (PACA).
Rudy Salles is delighted: “For the first time in 19 years, we have the opportunity to win the regional elections. Having worked with Christian Estrosi for a long time, I know he shares this viewpoint.”
Victory is in the air and this prospect brings enthusiasm: “Following the spirit of the departmental elections, we will fully commit ourselves to this campaign.”
