On March 15 and 22, you will choose the mayor of Nice for the next 6 years.
I have always said that I would first address you to indicate how I envision the future. The record is there, and the commitments are kept: Nice has regained its brilliance, ambition, and both national and international credibility. The time has thus come.
I am a candidate for the position of mayor of Nice. This position, which is the most beautiful of all to me, I always approach as a free man, far from political machinery.
For more than ten years, we have together faced the most exhilarating and also the most terrible moments; we have taken on the most difficult and important projects.
For these years, I want to thank you for your work, your patience, your encouragement, and also your criticisms, as all our exchanges have advanced Nice like never before.
We have learned to know each other better, to assess what was possible, necessary, and good, and we have accomplished it.
We have thus written a magnificent page in the history of our city, which we love so much, and a page in our lives. Today, I propose that we continue this story together with the same mindset, that of boldness, confidence, and social justice, paying attention to everyone, especially the most vulnerable.
Together, we must build a city where personal fulfillment and quality of life are even more preserved against the threats weighing on our civilization. Facing climate change or various incivilities, I am determined to continue transforming Nice into a garden city, a city of well-being, and always a pioneering city in new technologies for your safety.
This mindset, I want us to share it, to confront our ideas, our projects, your aspirations, your needs. We will soon meet near you to discuss and build together a project for each of your neighborhoods. That is where life is strongest, and that is where I want to be and act, as always, on a daily basis, with you, as close to you as possible.
Because the essential thing is you.
