To properly kick off the countdown of one year before the Grand Departure of the 2020 Tour de France in Nice and on the occasion of the National Cycling Day, a day dedicated to cycling titled “Nice Celebrates the Tour” was organized yesterday.
On the program, there was a village of free activities – open to everyone between 10 AM and 6 PM, at Quai des Etats-Unis – featuring a mountain biking trial demonstration by the Bomber Show, a fitness bike class by the agents of the Sports Department, a balance bike workshop for children aged 3 to 7, and a cycling skills course for those aged 8 to 13.
The National Sports Museum organized an outdoor exhibition titled “100 Years of the Yellow Jersey.”
Throughout the day, a bike exchange held by the association Viavelo, featuring deposit, sale, repair workshop, and bicycle marking, was very successful, attracting many visitors.
Families were not forgotten: they could enjoy a ride on the bike lanes organized by municipal sports educators and cycling clubs, and an outdoor spinning class conducted by the fitness instructors of the City of Nice.
For the athletes, a Cycling Tour “Ride on the Routes of the Tour de France 2020” with three offered distances (50, 70, 120 km) on the unveiled routes of the 2020 Tour de France Grand Departure.
