In the annual marathon of good wishes, yesterday afternoon it was the turn of the presidents and representatives of neighborhood associations and merchants to be received by the Mayor of Nice. “You are the essential links in the close ties woven between elected officials and citizens,” Christian Estrosi reminded them. He thanked them “for being committed actors and the legitimate interlocutors of residents and merchants.”
After quickly reviewing the major events of 2019, “a year rich in projects,” in the words of the Mayor, he wanted to thank those present: “We have worked together to improve the living environment of the people of Nice, to enhance the beauty of our city and its influence.”
Christian Estrosi did not fail to emphasize the role played by these association leaders, all volunteers, as it should be noted: “Proximity is a major challenge in an individualistic society. It is the daily and constructive exchanges that give meaning to public action. You are privileged partners in participating in the development of our city through the regular contacts we have, thanks to the social bond you infuse in the neighborhoods.”
Before moving on to a friendly drink, the Mayor of Nice laid out his guidelines: It is about sharing, mutual aid, solidarity, projects that are realized, transformations that change our lives in the long run. “Thus, I express the wish, in this new year, that we can continue to collectively realize the upcoming projects, to make our city and our neighborhoods a fantastic engine of development and well-being.”
