Eight novels have been selected by the members of the Nice Baie des Anges award jury, who gathered at the Romain Gary Library this Monday, for the annual meeting of the City of Nice’s literary prize dedicated to the novel.
Sponsored and endowed by the City of Nice, this prize, celebrating its quarter-century, rewards a novel published in the twelve months preceding the Nice Book Festival.
The Nice Baie des Anges award will be presented to the 2021 winner at the end of August, then awarded on Friday, September 17th during an official ceremony at the opening of the 25th edition of the Book Festival, which will be held from September 16th to 19th under the theme “A Certain Idea of France,” with Jacques Julliard as the guest of honor.
The jury, chaired by Franz-Olivier Giesbert, has selected:
- The Three Lives, Suzana Baker, Philippe AMAR (Mazarine);
- Hell, Gaspard KOENIG (LโObservatoire);
- The Original Body, Jean-Luc BARRร (Grasset);
- The Legal Life, Dominique DUPART (Actes Sud);
- The Eyes of Milos, Patrick GRAINVILLE (Seuil);
- Honey and Bitterness, Tahar BEN JELLOUN (Gallimard);
- The Fear Continues, Mazarine PINGEOT (Mialet Barrault);
- Born of the Night, Caroline AUDIBERT (Plon).
