The president of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region (DVD) has decided to support the head of state even though he is not (yet) a candidate.
A logical and unsurprising choice given the recent positions of the former Secretary of State, who only got involved in the Republican primary in November, supporting Xavier Bertrand, who had refused him.
On November 24, he left the LR after 35 years of loyalty to his political family.
In recent weeks, he had asked questions to Valérie Pécresse, designated by the LR, to make his choice. He asked her to clearly state that she would call to vote for Emmanuel Macron if he found himself in the second round against Eric Zemmour.
No response and so … goodbye!
