Latest News

They are getting ready for 2022. 623 mayors and local officials, including members of the government and the majority, are calling for support for Emmanuel Macron for a second term.

Among the first signatories of the open letter are the former Prime Minister and mayor of Le Havre, Edouard Philippe, the mayor of Nice Christian Estrosi, and the mayor of Toulon Hubert Falco. The list of supporters also includes the mayor of Clichy-sous-Bois Olivier Klein, the mayor of Poissy Karl Olive, and Doriane Bรฉcue, who replaced Gรฉrald Darmanin as the mayor of Tourcoing.

The initiative, presented by majority leaders as “a first act of pre-campaign,” is part of the ongoing support committees already led by the Minister for Overseas Territories Sรฉbastien Lecornu and Member of Parliament Thierry Solรจre.

It comes as Emmanuel Macron has not yet announced his intentions for 2022.

The Mayor of Nice expressed his support for the initiative as follows: “Yes, the past five years have been beneficial for the regions. Because I want us to go further in decentralization and differentiation, in continuity and stability, I signed this open letter to call for a second term for Emmanuel Macron.”
