Since Sunday at 6 PM, the official submission of candidacies at the prefecture has closed. Here is a summary of the candidates for the legislative elections in the different constituencies of the Alpes-Maritimes.
The first round of the legislative elections is fast approaching. Mark your calendars for June 30 and July 7 to head to the polls. In the meantime, here is what we know about the legislative candidacies in the department.
For the 1st constituency: Virgile Vanier running against Ciotti
Regarding the 1st constituency of the Alpes-Maritimes… Éric Ciotti, renounced by his party’s leadership, is running for re-election under the LR-RN label (union of right-wing parties). Facing him is Virgile Vanier, a candidate from LR.
He is a commercial director in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region and former president of the Côte d’Azur Sommeliers Association. He describes himself on his LinkedIn profile as “self-taught, ambitious, ingenious, organized, versatile, and persuasive”. According to an anonymous AFP source, Virgile Vanier is “a right-wing sympathizer who approached LR this week to become a candidate.” So far, the candidate in the 1st constituency of the Alpes-Maritimes has not yet spoken publicly.
The other candidates are Graig Monetti, representing Ensemble/Horizons, Olivier Salerno (LFI), a candidate for the New Popular Front, and Alain Langouet for the Workers’ Struggle.
The other constituency candidacies
2nd constituency: Lionel Tivoli, outgoing RN candidate, David Varonne for Ensemble/Horizons, Leïla Tonnerre (LFI) under the New Popular Front. Also running are Simon Daragon, an LR candidate, and Florent Imbert, a candidate from the Workers’ Struggle.
In the 3rd constituency, the candidates are Philippe Pradal, the outgoing Ensemble/Horizons candidate, Laure Quignard (PS) under the New Popular Front, Bernard Chaix with LR/union of the right, and Estelle Jaquet for the Workers’ Struggle.
For the 4th constituency, Alexandra Masson, the outgoing RN deputy, is running. Anne-Pascale Guedon with Ensemble/Renaissance, Virginie Parent (PC) with the New Popular Front, and Joseph Markiel for the Workers’ Struggle are also candidates.
In the 5th constituency of the Alpes-Maritimes, Christelle d’Intorni is a candidate for LR/Union of the right. Gaël Nofri is running with Ensemble/Horizons, Fabrice Decoupigny (EELV) under the New Popular Front, and Agnès Benkemoun for the Workers’ Struggle, all competing for a deputy seat in this constituency.
Regarding the 6th constituency, candidates include Bryan Masson, outgoing RN deputy, Nicole Mazzella (LFI) under the New Popular Front, as well as Laurence Trastourt-Isnart (LR) and Daniele Bartoli representing the Workers’ Struggle.
In the 7th constituency, Eric Pauget (LR) is seeking re-election, with Thierry Ferrand on the RN side. Aline Abravanel is with Ensemble/Renaissance, Arthur Meyer-Abbatucci (LFI) with the New Popular Front, and Christian Petard of the Workers’ Struggle.
In the 8th constituency: Alexandra Martin, outgoing LR candidate, Dorette Landerer from the RN, Mike Castro Demaria (Ensemble/Renaissance), Lucia Soudant (LFI) under the New Popular Front, and Marie-José Pereira of the Workers’ Struggle.
9th constituency: Michèle Tabarot, outgoing LR candidate, Franck Galbert from the RN, José Garcia-Abia (PS) with the New Popular Front, and Liliane Pécout (Workers’ Struggle).
