2024 Olympics: An IOC Very Pleased with the Candidatures Received

Latest News

Thomas Bach, its president, doesn’t hide it: the IOC is pleased with the content of the initial files received in Lausanne from the four cities competing for the 2024 Games: Budapest, Los Angeles, Paris, and Rome.

The German leader assured through an official press release that the four files were perfectly “in line” with the recommendations of the Agenda 2020.

“Each of the four cities has clearly focused its project on sustainable development, legacy, and how the facilities will be used after the Games,” explained Thomas Bach.

A similar sentiment was expressed by Jacqueline Barrett, the director of relations with the candidate cities for the IOC. She notes that all four files strongly emphasize existing or temporary sites.

The Olympic race is therefore officially underway, and there is hope that Paris might, this time, emerge as the winner of a competition that continually raises the bar.
