After a century of waiting and painful failures, Paris finally triumphs by officially securing the organization of the 2024 Olympic Games on Wednesday, during the 131st IOC session in Lima.
At the same time, Los Angeles was awarded the 2028 Summer Olympics.
All 84 voters opted for a dual award.
Paris, which was already a host city in 1900 and 1924, thus joins London in the exclusive club of cities that have hosted the Olympics three times. Just like Los Angeles, which has already been the stage for the world’s biggest multi-sport event in 1932 and 1984.
This is a historic moment for the French sports movement!
Now it will be crucial to build and share a responsible vision to continue passing on the Olympic flame.
