The city of Saint Laurent du Var will host the 22nd edition of the Festival of Words and Books from November 22 to 24.
Organized by the municipal board under the direction of Brigitte Belhassen, the Festival of Words and Books will once again this year welcome more than thirty authors in the municipality of Saint-Laurent-du-Var.
The attending authors will engage with schools and colleges in the city, at the Salle Ferrière as well as at the Théâtre Georges Brassens. Three schools from La Gaude will also participate in the project. In total, 108 preschool/elementary classes and 20 middle school classes will take part in the event. The students have worked beforehand to gain a perfect understanding of the authors and the theme addressed: children’s literature.
Workshops lasting 1.5 to 2 hours will be set up to foster children’s creativity. On Saturday, November 24, the highlight will be the children’s book fair at the Salle Ferrière in Saint-Laurent-du-Var.
Susie Morgenstern, Alain Chiche, and Christine Palluy will be among the authors and illustrators present, while Catherine Bouin David Razon and Nourhène Kelly will represent the storytellers.
The public is mainly anticipated on Saturday, November 24, from 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM at the Salle Ferrière, for meetings, book signings, and games with storytellers and illustrators, true representatives of an ever richer and more diverse children’s literature.
