231 people have died from the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to figures published by Santé publique France this Sunday, November 1st. The pandemic has now resulted in 37,019 deaths.
Additionally, 46,290 new cases of Covid-19 have been detected in 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 1,413,915, according to the agency Santé publique France. This daily number of new cases reached an unprecedented level last Sunday at 52,010 and was 35,641 on Saturday. The positivity rate of the detection tests carried out in the country continues to rise and now stands at 20.4%.
This week, 17,450 patients have been hospitalized, including 2,605 in intensive care units. To date, 3,578 people are hospitalized in intensive care or critical care, which is 126 more than on Saturday.
In the Alpes-Maritimes, there are 290 people hospitalized, including 54 in intensive care. No new deaths have been reported.
