From April 16 to May 2, 2011, Antibes celebrates the return of spring. Once again, collectors, enthusiasts, and art lovers will gather in Antibes to discover the masterpieces assembled by the 100 selected exhibitors this year, drawing nearly 30,000 visitors.

The Antibes Fair has become and remains one of the most important antiques fairs in France. It is also a major event in Europe.

From Primitive Arts to Modern Art, passing through the great French styles

Antiques and second-hand goods, as well as furniture and art objects from the 20th century, make up the three main areas of focus at the Antibes Fair. In each of these sectors, the public will discover a unique and eclectic selection of rare pieces, from Antiquity to the 20th century. Furniture, art objects, jewelry, paintings, carpets, lighting…, all unique, from all styles and eras, presented by specialists who are also international references.

Visiting the Antibes Fair is also embarking on a superb journey across the world, discovering the masterpieces of great civilizations in Europe, Asia, Oceania, Africa… Finally, the Flea Market on Aguillon Boulevard and the Boules Game Flea Market will complete the range of choices.

Prestigious exhibitors

As usual, the large tent will welcome the big names in the antiques sector, which contribute to the international reputation of the fair: Jean Gismondi, Giorgio Salvaรฏ, Atelier DL, Galerie Scalabrino, Boon Galerie, La Frรฉceliรจre, Antiquitรฉs 1900-1930, Contes dโ€™Orient, Mille ans dโ€™Orient…, but also Antic Dรฉco with its exceptional period tableware services, the magnificent Provenรงal furniture presented by Antiquitรฉs Sainte-Anne and of course the jewelers-goldsmiths… Art Deco will also be present with one of the great specialists of the genre: Gรฉrard Duflot. Finally, the great masters of Modern Art will notably be presented by Claeys Gallery, Fleury galleries, Giosimo Arte, Hurtebize, Jean-Franรงois Cazeau, Michel Estades… not forgetting the big names of the international contemporary scene and the traditional flea market.

This year, the Fair has also selected new exhibitors who will enrich the quality and diversity of the Fair, among which are Roberta e Basta, Colori del Tempo and Studio Antiquario Zora, coming from Italy, Antiquitรฉs Robert Cohen (Paris), Galerie 56 (Megรจve), Galerie Nathalie Barbรฉ (Paris), Moleiro (Barcelona)…

You will also discover beside the great masters of 20th-century painting exceptional paintings by Van Dongen, Bonnard, Juan Gris, Marquet, Dufy, Combas, Geer Van Velde…and concerning antiques:

An historical and unpublished contemporary painting by Francesco Primatice (Bologna 1504 โ€“ Fontainebleau 1570): โ€œThe Loves of Vertumnus and Pomonaโ€. Unique painted testimony on canvas of the fresco created by Francesco Primatice at the Pomona Pavilion in Fontainebleau and destroyed in 1766.
A wooden Couple from the Kingdom of Chu (5th century BC),
A rare and precious six-piece Office set in chiseled and gilded bronze, adorned in bezel setting with stones and signed Otto Rohloff,
