In the early 1960s, following Morocco’s independence, hundreds of thousands of Moroccan Jews, fearing political uncertainty, decided to leave their homeland to immigrate to Israel and other countries. When the manager of the town’s only bar learns that all the Jews are leaving, he panics. If all the non-Muslims leave the town, he will be forced to close the bar. How can he avoid closure?
