Created 40 years ago, the Antibes Fair is one of the most important and prestigious antique fairs in France. Due to the quality of the works presented and its success with visitors, it has also become a major event in Europe, and it is this Saturday, April 7th, that the event will kick off.
Every year, in spring, more than 20,000 enthusiasts, passionate individuals, and collectors of antiques, second-hand goods, antique jewelry… as well as 20th-century furniture and art objects, and paintings signed by the great masters of modern art, gather at the port of Antibes.
The program includes: a true journey through time and the history of art, featuring exceptional masterpieces exhibited by about a hundred French and international exhibitors, selected from among the best.
To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the next edition of the Antibes Fair will be more beautiful than ever. From April 7 to 23, 2012, the large tent, specially set up for this event on the quay of the port, will become a jewel-like space where stands will be constructed, arranged, and decorated like real galleries. Larger and more spacious than last year, it will also welcome more exhibitors to complement the offerings provided by the faithful antique dealers and gallery owners from last year. Exceptional pieces have already been announced to mark this anniversary. And, of course, outside, the flea market on Aguillon Boulevard and the petanque ground will once again contribute to providing the Fair with its unique atmosphere.
The Antibes Fair thus celebrates an art of living that harmoniously combines antiquities and modernity by the Mediterranean! And this year, to celebrate its 40th anniversary and to thank our increasingly international audience, we have decided to use the dual denomination of Antibes Fair and Antibes Art Fair, while, of course, keeping our event’s purpose unchanged.
