Television enthusiasts will celebrate from June 10 to 14 during the 47th Monte-Carlo Television Festival. Programs from the world’s largest international TV networks will be in competition. The films from the official selection, grouped into three categories (Fiction, TV Series, and News), will form the core of this Festival.

The winners will be able to receive the prestigious “Golden Nymphs,” as well as many other special prizes. These awards will be given by seasoned professionals, often producers or executives of the biggest audiovisual production companies. So, prestigious people, yet unknown to the general public. Jury Professional Profiles

The jurors of the “Fiction” category (Television Films and Mini-Series) will be present in numbers for this 47th festival. Six members will judge the 28 programs in competition. The Russian director Adel Al-Khadad (awarded in 2006 with a Golden Nymph for the best mini-series), will be supported by the Korean producer and director Jeeyeong Choi. John W. Hyde (USA), currently vice-president of Starz, a company that produces and distributes programs worldwide. The American Morgan Wandell is responsible for the development of dramas at ABC studios (a subsidiary of the Walt Disney company for television). The Japanese Hiroshi Kataoka, Director of the Drama Products Division for NHK (a major Japanese channel) and the Austrian actress Marianne Sägebrecht complete this impressive team.

The “TV Series” category will be led by the French Pascal Breton (CEO of France’s second-largest audiovisual group, Marathon Group). If this name does not ring a bell, you will learn that he has written and produced “Extrême limite,” “Sous le soleil,” “Dolmen,” etc. Pascal Breton will be accompanied by the English Jules Burns, Director of Operations at All3 Media (this company manages production and distribution companies worldwide – Ed.) and incidentally a board member of FC Liverpool. Tim Gibson (USA) is currently the executive producer of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” (a comedy produced by HBO). Finally, the Hungarian Miklos Szinetar (advisor to the President of the Hungarian Television MTV) is a festival veteran.

As for the “News” category, the names of the representatives have not yet been communicated. However, the largest international news networks such as CNN International, BBC News, Sky News, NHK, TF1, or TVE should be represented.
