On September 11, 1968, at 10:33 AM, the Caravelle Nice-Ajaccio crashed into the sea off the coast of Cap d’Antibes. Ninety-five people, including about ten children, perished in this disaster. There were no survivors. Every year, a tribute is paid in memory of the victims of the Caravelle Nice-Ajaccio.
The Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM by Monsignor Andrรฉ Marceau, Bishop of Nice, at Saint-Hรฉlรจne Church. It will be followed by the traditional laying of wreaths at the foot of the Memorial Stele in Ferber Garden, and the Dio Vi Salvi Regina will be performed by the group Ava Corsica.
