The Evening Visitors, organized by Botox[s], an association of the main contemporary art venues on the Côte d’Azur, is offering for the 5th consecutive year an evening event taking place at about thirty locations this Saturday, May 26th, from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., followed by the Nocturne de l’Art from 10:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. at the Abattoirs-Chantier du Sang Neuf.
When contemporary art joins forces with contemporary music, it results in the convergence of an event [Botoxs]/Crossover, materialized by the closing night of the Evening Visitors, announcing the opening of the Crossover festival.
True to its vocation and one of its main objectives – to showcase the essence of current creative productions in a given territory – [Botoxs], for the duration of one evening, invites the public to a journey through galleries, alternative cultural venues, hotels, and also private spaces – apartments, artists’ studios – allowing visitors to engage with artistic proposals organized for the occasion.
The route is punctuated by artistic performances, timed rendezvous in the various spaces that mark the path, thus generating circulation throughout the neighborhoods of the city.
For a day, Nice transforms into a vast artistic stage. It’s about enjoying a pleasant moment strolling through the city and getting closer to the actors and producers of art present in the locations and attentive to the visitors.
This festive event offers a new and dynamic perspective on the city, which is evidently part of art history since some of the greatest artists of the 20th century set their bags down here. Botox[s] naturally fits into this chronology and does not forget that creation cannot be enriched without the convergence and exchange of external artists and different practices.
If the associations Botox[s] and Crossover had the will and desire to unite their efforts, it is because they bet on a mixing of their audiences during this evening combining music and the visual arts.
Breaking down the cultural practices of one another, bringing them together, provoking their encounters is not at all displeasing to them, quite the opposite.
A party will conclude the nocturnal event. The choice of the venue was deliberately set on the former Abattoirs in Nice, a currently derelict site that should eventually become a cultural space open to the public.
The Evening Visitors promotes current art through an opportunity accessible to all passersby and temporary visitors to the city. The record attendance recorded in previous years
demonstrates the success of this initiative and a strong cultural demand from the public.
