The city of Biot is hosting the 5th edition of its eco-citizen festival “Souffleurs d’Avenir” from April 26 to 28, focusing on the theme of ecological transition and a more sustainable society.

This year, the festival is sponsored by the navigator Alexia Barrier, who has sailed over 120,000 miles in 20 years and has participated in no fewer than 15 transatlantic races. She is also the founder of the project 4myplanet, which aims to collect scientific data on the oceans, educate young people about the maritime environment, and develop sustainable technologies at sea.

During the 3-day event, various activities focusing on environmental themes are offered. On Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., information stands, exhibitions, an organic gourmet market, and food trucks will enliven the heart of Biot up to the Fernand Lรฉger Museum. Creative and fun workshops are planned for families.

A major roundtable discussion, “Climate: It’s Still Time,” will be moderated by director and journalist Elsa da Costa Grangier on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Other debates will follow throughout the weekend:
โ€“ “Energy Transition AND Solidarity, How to Achieve It?”
โ€“ “Free Public Transport: A Social and Ecological Justice Issue for 2020?”

Among the various workshops organized, you can discover educational games, a wellness area, a teaching farm, or even yoga classes. “Year after year, climate issues become increasingly concerning, and ecological and social transition is ever more essential. Solutions exist. It is together that we will make them flourish,” declares the mayor of Biot, Guilaine Debras, in a statement.
