For its 5th edition, the Nice Côte d’Azur Sport Film Festival will take place this Thursday, October 22 (tomorrow) at 6 PM. The ceremony will be held at the Mamac Auditorium. The event will reward the five most deserving films across five categories that reflect the values of sport.
This Thursday will mark the culmination of several months of work for all the production teams. No fewer than five directors will be awarded the honorary title of best film. In total, more than 200 films from around the world were submitted to the jury. The festival’s content is divided into five distinct categories: sport & society; documentary; sport movies; Olympic games and clip & advertising.
Let’s remember that the goal of the event is to promote the values of sport and Olympism through film. The evening will be presided over by Philippe Manassero, representative of the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee of the Alpes-Maritimes (CDOS06). The patron of this new edition is well known to the festival as it is Claire Peradotto (vice-president of UPE06).
In recent years, numerous distinguished guests have attended to receive recognition for their participation in various film productions. Among them are Yelena Isinbayeva (IOC member, double Olympic gold medalist in pole vault and world record holder), Emilie Fer (Olympic champion in kayaking), and Stéphane Diagana (world champion in 400M hurdles).
The 5th Nice Côte d’Azur International Sport Film Festival is part of the World Challenge, which includes twenty events taking place around the world throughout the year. The event will conclude in Milan during the World Challenge, which will be held from November 7 to 11.
