Last year, the Patriote presented for the first time an exhibition at the Fête de l’Huma on the theme of the 150th anniversary of Nice’s annexation to France.
This year, the newspaper is doing it again by presenting an extension of the exhibition visible at the Louis Nucéra Library in Nice: “60 Years of Contemporary Artists in the Patriote.”

For over 60 years, the Patriote has been a space for artists to experiment with the press while being a place for reflection and critique on contemporary art on the Côte d’Azur.

We must remember March 1951, and that first drawing Picasso created for the cover of the Patriote for the Nice Carnival! In total, he designed 10 covers.

This founding act also brought considerable momentum, permanently and profoundly marking the newspaper’s relationship with contemporary art and artists.

Hosted at the PCF Alpes-Maritimes stand, this unique exhibition will showcase a selection of the most beautiful covers illustrated by artists, sometimes alongside their original works.

Featuring Picasso, Ben, Braque, Pignon-Ernest, Moretti, Vernassa, Miguel, Di Rosa, Lagautrière, Franta, Eusebi, Baudoin, Kijno, Meziani…

• This exhibition is still visible at the Louis Nucéra Library in Nice until September 24.

Open Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 AM to 7 PM, Thursday and Friday from 2 PM to 7 PM, and Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM / 2 Place Yves Klein, 06300 Nice.
