The SPA publishes a unique survey on the French people’s approach to adoption. It is an opportunity to launch their campaign for their open days, which will take place on May 13 and 14 throughout France.
The SPA is making its debut in cinema! Through a campaign using cinematic codes. A nod to the Cannes Film Festival which is fast approaching. But here, the stars are the little animals waiting for an owner in the 63 SPA shelters and homes across France. In this regard, the SPA announces its open days on May 13 and 14. In Nice, the home is located at 74, rue de France.
Creating awareness about animal adoption through such a campaign is not insignificant. The purpose of the SPA is to promote a responsible adoption above all. This is why they enlisted Opinionway to carry out a survey on the behavior of the French towards adoption, in a persisting inflationary context. The company questioned 2,000 individuals from March 15 to 22, 2023, providing fundamental statistics to better understand all the ins and outs.
Is inflation a barrier to adoption?
The survey results reveal that the cost of living impacts adoption plans, but this remains minimal. The major barriers for the 33% of French people who do not consider this action are still the constraints of daily life, those related to vacations. Additionally, 21% of them cite financial reasons. 44% directly associate them with inflation.
According to this survey, 67% of French people have or plan to have a pet. More than half of future owners plan to realize this project through an association or a shelter. It’s noted that these places largely have a good reputation. 84% of those surveyed believe that everyone can find an animal that suits them at the SPA shelters.
It should be noted that since October 1, 2022, the legislation for adopting has changed. It is now necessary to complete and sign a certificate of commitment and knowledge seven days in advance. Downloadable just here, it was designed to prevent impulsive adoptions and the potential future abandonments that often go hand in hand.
