The delicious Niçois meal prepared by the Toques Brûlées, led by David and Noëlle Faure and their fellow chefs, once again captivated the public in the gardens of Cimiez last Sunday during the 6th edition of the grand charitable picnic co-organized by Les Harley du Cœur.
Last Sunday, upon arriving under the centuries-old olive trees in the Gardens of Cimiez in Nice, it was above all the delicate aroma of fresh vegetables that first made our mouths water! Then what drew attention was the genuine hive of volunteers who had been busy since the morning setting up the infrastructures and preparing the dishes that would be tasted a few hours later in the garden!
Among the many Niçois specialties on offer, there was notably the traditional pan bagnat, trouchia, the melting tian of local zucchini, chickpea salad that the Toques Brûlées and their friends assembled on site, Serge Sarain’s pissaladière, the socca from the big-hearted Bikers, and plenty of other delicacies expertly crafted by the Azur chefs, made solely with fresh and seasonal products supplied by the partners of this special day, including MIN de Nice, maison Blampin, the Bio and Italian store in Nice Saint Isidore, maison Pain Petifour, maison Malongo, maison Métro, Auchan la Trinité, maison Balicco, AC by MARRIOTT hotels in Cap d’Ail and Nice, and many other partners like the City of Nice, France Bleu Azur, and the Department of Alpes Maritimes.
Dessert lovers were not left out as the sweet section was provided by Mic Mac Macaron, featuring their delicious house specialty accompanied by fresh fruits and delicately flavored homemade ice cream. Pascal Picasse and Pascal Rolfo lent a helping hand to Bruno Laffargue for the presentation.
Throughout the day, the musical atmosphere under the very sunny olive grove of the gardens of Cimiez was ensured by the famous Azurian DJ Valy D, who was joined mid-afternoon by the gentle singer Manoé, who pleasantly sprinkled her folk melodies, much to everyone’s delight.
The generosity of the chefs, Les Harley du Cœur, and the present volunteers was matched only by that of the many participants, who came with their families to share these gourmet moments, thanks to which some 350 new toys were collected. This precious loot will soon be delivered to vulnerable and hospitalized children in the pediatric departments of Archet 2 and the Antoine Lacassagne Center in Nice.
Congratulations to everyone, and see you at the next edition of the gourmet picnic!
