The first marathon in France after Paris, the Alpes-Maritimes Nice-Cannes Marathon, with the collaboration of its title partner, the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes, and the support of the Cities of Nice and Cannes, will welcome more than 12,000 participants on November 9th. These runners will start from the Promenade des Anglais in Nice and finish at the Boulevard de la Croisette in Cannes, just a stone’s throw from the Palais des Festivals.
Since its first edition in 2008, the competitors of the Alpes-Maritimes Nice-Cannes Marathon have continually praised the incredible beauty of this route, which starts in Nice and ends in Cannes, passing through five other iconic communes of the department: Saint-Laurent-du-Var, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Villeneuve-Loubet, not forgetting Antibes Juan-les-Pins and Vallauris Golfe-Juan, each adding its own uniqueness to the event. This entirely seaside route offers a unique setting in the world, lined with palm trees and framed by snow-capped mountains.
The Alpes-Maritimes Nice-Cannes Marathon is not just for individual and seasoned runners. In fact, from its second year, the event has opened to companies and groups by offering a relay format in teams of 6 with the Marathon Relay Caisse d’Epargne of the Alpes-Maritimes Nice-Cannes, recording a record number of 400 teams engaged last year. (6 relays ranging from 3 to 10.8 km each)
Since last year, the race offers a new format for runners in pairs, the 2×21.1 km, allowing each duo to run a half marathon each.
Along these 42.195 km, nearly 100,000 spectators are expected to cheer and applaud the 12,000 participants in this magnificent event, which will take place on Sunday, November 9th, starting at 8:00 AM on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice.
