As part of the celebrations for Valberg’s 80th anniversary, the resort offered a gourmet hike to half a thousand people, following the trails of Valberg dotted with gourmet stops.
No fewer than 500 people participated in this gourmet hike that led walkers through the undergrowth, ridges, and trails of the Valberg area, with a passage through Les Âtres, the Eguilles sector, and the Senator’s Lake. It was an opportunity for the “old” Valbergans to meet the younger generations, to journey together and talk about the past, present, and future.
“A friendly and warm atmosphere that helped (re)establish relationships,” said Deputy Mayor Charles Ange Ginésy.
Charles Ange Ginésy briefly recounted the history of Valberg, created in 1936, whose German-sounding name comes from the contraction of Valloun des Bergians, developed especially in the post-war years by a handful of pioneers who “weren’t afraid to take risks and dared to move forward.”
