In 1985, in Antwerp, a student association organized an evening under the theme: “Classical music meets pop music.” Jan Van Esbroeck and Jan Vereecke, two students in Applied Economic Sciences, had no idea that their event would become one of the most anticipated live music events in Europe. Each year, the “Night Of The Proms” attracts hundreds of thousands of spectators from all generations.
From March 9 to 18, the grand celebration of classical and pop music will embark on its 4th tour across France, with 9 concerts in 9 major cities. On March 17 at 8:30 PM, the Palais Nikaรฏa promises a vibrant program worthy of a “Symphonic Show.”
What can you expect during this show? “Performances of very popular works from classical music, interspersed with hits performed by their creators.” International pop music stars, accompanied by a top-notch rhythm section and the symphonic orchestra Il Novecento, conducted by Robert Groslot, will see their major worldwide hits gain a new dimension thanks to superb orchestrations. This year again, a host of renowned soloists will share their passion for music with you during this unique concert.
Announced performers include:
– Jenifer, from Nice, who will be making her “revolution” by taking part in “a somewhat magical adventure.”
– Anggun, the magnificent Indonesian, who captivates her audience with her voice and is thrilled at the idea of singing with a symphony orchestra.
– Tina Arena, the beautiful Australian, who is expecting to experience “a richer, more complete musical adventure.”
– Faudel, the “Little Prince of Raรฏ,” who will “make it a point to have fun and add a small, sparkling Maghrebian note.”
– I Muvrini, flag-bearers of Corsican culture, who will “manage to place a small light, a force, an emotion in the heart of the audience.”
– Mimie Mathy, known for her talents as a humorist, actress, and actress, who will share her angelic notes. “A big challenge” for this “little woman.”
– John Miles, the singer synonymous with “Night Of The Proms,” who will lead the Electric Band and perform major pop classics by “playing nuances rather than going over-the-top.”
– Vincent Niclo, the charming Rhett Butler, who will showcase the full power of his voice during this Symphonic Show.
The “Night Of The Proms” is not just a union of classical and pop music but also a mix of genres and eras. This year again, the “Night Of The Proms” promises us a spectacularly emotional show.
