As part of their “Entrepreneurship Project”, four EDHEC students have decided to organize a conference day on the theme of “yield management,” which is one of the most significant issues in the hotel industry today. We define yield management as a “specific mode of pricing that varies depending on the booking time and the selected period. This system is mainly used in hotel management and by airlines to optimize revenue with largely fixed costs and capacities.”
This event will take place at the EDHEC Nice premises on April 7, 2006. It is intended for yield managers from 4 and 5-star hotels on the French Riviera. To ensure the success of this event, we have decided to invite specialists from various backgrounds (academic and professional).
Mr. Horatiu Tudori, who will be the lecturer and workshop director of the day, is a professor in the MBA program at the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, and Mr. Bernard Rannou is responsible for Yield Management at Optims Amadeus. During the day, two topics will be discussed: Relationship Marketing vs. Revenue by Mr. Tudori, and Optimization in Yield Management by Mr. Rannou.
It’s noteworthy that the themes were chosen following consultations with yield managers from the French Riviera to fully meet their expectations. This type of meeting is relatively rare in the region since meetings often take place in the Paris area or directly at various educational locations such as Lausanne (in Europe) or Cornell (in the United States) and are often quite expensive.
The conference is offered in Nice on April 7 for only 50€ (including two snacks, a lunch, and a cocktail). Thus, this conference presents a great opportunity for all professionals in the luxury hotel industry located on the French Riviera.
