Especially since a victory against Rumilly could be enhanced given the risky travels of La Seyne (6th with 19 points) to Bédarrides (3rd with 22 points) and of Beaurepaire (5th with 19 points) to Aix (2nd with 26 points). Indeed, the offensive bonus point would be the cherry on top for Nice, but a misstep must be avoided at all costs to not risk falling into a highly unpredictable play-down group. The men led by Moni know what they have left to do as they will host Aix on January 13th, and these two matches might allow them to climb into the upper half of the standings before going to Romans, receiving Bédarrides, and finally traveling to Beaurepaire.
Everything is still possible for Nice rugby, but they must keep up the effort until the end to keep the dream alive or at least prevent it from turning into a nightmare. Nice rugby has already experienced quite a few nightmarish moments and should avoid falling back into the same pitfalls. However, fortunately, we are not there yet and a few victories here and there might even open the doors to a much more attractive dream flavored with a taste of Pro D2.
In the meantime, the Arboras stadium will greatly need a large audience these next two Sundays to support a Nice XV that must convert the try to make 2008 a good and blessed year.
