“Everywhere, the Earth suffers, agonizes, and cannot regenerate without the goodwill of humanity, hence the necessity and urgency of substantial work. Humans must stop believing that their fate is separate from that of other living beings.” These words from Nicolas Hulot highlight his relentless fight against an issue often taken lightly by politicians. This nature enthusiast has used his fame to aid the ecological struggle by establishing the Nicolas Hulot Foundation for Nature and Man in 1995. Recognized as a public-interest organization in August 1996, this association’s role is to raise awareness about the dangers the planet faces. Its mission is to contribute to the discovery of nature and the protection of the environment.
